Coppell TV Repair LLC offers you a simple and useful jumper cable allowing connection to the CAN bus of an Enerdel battery pack PE500-403 (and quite possibly others as well) through standard DB9 connector used by many sniffers on the market.

We built the first cable ourselves when chasing the source of a battery that did not want to start and it proved helpful in easily connecting our sniffer, recording and decoding messages, comparing them with the ones from good working batteries and eventually knowing what had to be done once we open the battery.

Note this is just the cable as shown! We do not currently offer a sniffer or decoding file though we are considering doing that as well.

Cables are expensive as they are manually built. We do not like it either and frankly we do not expect this to be a money making vehicle.

It is an answer to a few requests we received over the past years from various individuals emplying the Enerdel battery packs from the Wonder mobile kitchen trucks in various projects beyond the trucks themselves.

To use the cable you need to open the front panel of the battery and find the corresponding cable at the bottom of the MLEC board, disconnect it and use the same type connector to connect to the board and the corresponding female connector at the other end of our cable to plug the freshly disconnected wire from the battery. You are now left with a single DB9 connector that you can just leave sitting outside when carefully putting the front panel back, making sure to not overtighten it and cut the cables.

Voila, fire up your sniffer and start recording cell voltages and temperatures, which would allow you to identify and target the most likely culprits upon opening the battery instead of laboring around!
