Repair service for Samsung LN40A550P3FXZA timing controller / T-CON - display deformations

If your Samsung LN40A550P3FXZA develops the habit of corrupting the image shortly after being turned on then chances are you need this service.
$45.00

Coppell TV Repair offers a REPAIR SERVICE for the AUO LCD controller / T-CON (timing control) board T400HW01 V4 / 40TO2-C02  (or 40T02-C02) as shown on the picture and used in Samsung LN40A550P3FXZA 40'' LCD TV.

REPAIR SERVICE means that you have to send in your malfunctioning board in order to get it serviced, tested and returned to you.

An exchange service may also be available where you buy a working board in advance and then send yours back to get credit towards the original purchase price.

Please take a minute to read through the failure symptoms, service and warranty requirements and conditions, processing time etc. important information for the offerred service.

Failure symptoms

Typcal falure symptoms of a bad T-CON T400HW01 are display deformations related to brightnes, usually in a certain area of the display.

Often times the problems develops as a spot that gets either darker or brighter shortly after the TV is turned on.

It may slowly grow over time or it may get to the point of just covering part of the display or the whole display - either over a period of time or - in some cases - even immediately after the TV is turned on.

Some users report vertical distortions too (as opposed to a spot or blob).

Symptoms like these are sometimes also developed by the LCD display itself and it is impossible to differentiate them at 100% from a bad T-CON board.

We test each board that comes at our service center before we do anything to it, but it will help if you add a brief description of the symptom on your end in the service request form.

Processing time

Typical processing time for the repair is within two business days; if we have any probems that require more time (be it demand overload or technical difficulties with the particular board) we will contact you with an update and request for more time.

We have a fairly high success ratio, but we still do not guarantee success; if we can't get the board to work, though, you will not need to pay.

Payment

Presently we do not charge in advance for repair services.

Instead, once the board(s) are received, tested, found to be defective, serviced and tested again to success we send a payment request to the customer.

If something along the process - such as unexpected difficulty or finding a board to be functional - arises we contact the customer via email and/or phone and disscuss options.

Minimal charge / diagnostic fee

If a board arrives and is determined to be functional we charge $20 diagnostic fee (plus return shipping).

For explanation of why do we do that please read this article.

Board requirements

We ask that the board arrives here in good physical condition and without traces of tampering. If someone (other than us, that is) has already attempted to service the board then please contact us with a description/pictures and do not directly place an order. We reserve the right to refuse service to boards that have signs of repair attempts.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask.
